PURPLE PARADE

While studying at LASALLE College of the Arts, Emma began stepping into the public eye through her work as a volunteer performer at community events. It was during this time that her artistry started extending beyond the classroom and into real audiences.

Her first major public appearance was at the Purple Parade — a national mid-year celebration that honours and uplifts Persons with Disabilities through music, performance, and advocacy. Taking the stage with her band, Irregular Decibels (I.D.), Emma performed at the event for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024.

Those performances marked more than just stage time; they signaled the beginning of her growing presence as a live artist. In front of diverse and heartfelt audiences, Emma learned not only how to perform, but how to connect — using music as a bridge between stories, communities, and lived experiences.

What began as a volunteer opportunity became an important chapter in her journey, shaping her confidence and solidifying her purpose as an artist who leads with both talent and heart.

In 2023, the Purple Parade marked a defining breakthrough for Emma Darwisyah and her band, Irregular Decibels (I.D.), as they took to the festival’s main stage for the first time. It was more than just a performance — it was a statement of arrival.

Delivering a high-energy set packed with timeless anthems, the band electrified the crowd with renditions of Sweet Child o' Mine by Guns N' Roses, I'll Be There for You by The Rembrandts, and Don't Stop Believin' by Journey. Their dynamic stage presence and undeniable chemistry captivated the audience, transforming the moment into one of both celebration and connection.

For Emma, the experience marked a turning point in her live performance journey — a powerful reminder of the impact music can have when passion meets purpose on stage.
